Message from the Director
John Shoup, Ph.D.
Director, Leadership Studies Program
History is replete with lessons documenting how bad leaders have ruined good people, organizations, and societies. Fortunately, stories also abound on how good leaders have helped people, organizations, and societies to thrive.
The good news is that much of what it takes for good leadership to happen can be learned.
The interdisciplinary 58-unit degree is designed for working professionals in administration, athletics, business, church ministry, education (K-12 and higher education), government, non-profit, and public health organizations and institutions.
“Why study leadership at the Ph.D. level? We believe good leadership can be learned.”
